Polo Shirts

People to People delegation polo shirts this year are made of a wonderfully breathable fabric, so comfort is a great improvement. They are also now available in men's and women's sizes, which means a better fit. However, if you are female, you shouldn’t order a men's size. As there are times when it is mandatory that delegates wear their People to People polos it is important to make sure you order the correct size. Please refer to the sizing chart on the ordering web site: http://www.americanbus.com/newaces/Images/06221/SizeChart2.pdf
If you have any questions about changing your size on your order, or any other questions, please let one of the leaders know right away!

Assignments update

There have been some questions about your assignments, so I want to make sure everyone is up to date. You have four assignments: your research project, your news articles, your journal entry, and your community service project.

Details on your research project are listed in an entry below; let me know (charleshall@yahoo.com) if you have any questions.

For your news articles, you need to write a one paragraph review on each of two news articles about one of the countries we will be visiting, and on each of two articles dealing with local politics, which may be of interest to people we will be meeting in one or more of the countries we'll be visiting. That's four paragraphs about four news articles. Knowing about these topics may very well help you to be able to answer questions and have meaningful conversations with people you will meet! I know that many of you have already turned yours in.

Your first Pre-Travel journal entry is to write about your goals for being a student ambassador. What areas would you like to improve upon? What does it mean to be an American? What characteristics do you think are typically Anerican? What do you think Americans are known for in other countries?

Finally, your community service project is a project you perform, to give back to your community. It should be something meaningful, and not something you would have done anyway. When you have finished your project, write me a short note (you may send it by email) telling me what you did, and what you got out of it. Did it change your perspectives at all? Did you learn anything from your experience? I'm not looking for any specific length of time you worked, or that you made an impact that will change the world. But, did you change anything, maybe one person's attitude, even if it was only yours? Did you improve someone's life, if only for a moment? If you still have questions. please email me with them!
